City Council Meeting – Tuesday, November 21, 2017

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Redwood Falls City Council was called to order in the Municipal Chambers on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 8:30 a.m.

Roll call indicated Mayor Corey Theis and Council Members Jim Sandgren, Matt Smith, Larry Arentson, Paul DeBlieck, and John T. Buckley were present, constituting a quorum. 

Also present were City Administrator Keith Muetzel, Human Resources Coordinator Sheila Stage and David Drown Associate Gary Weiers.

The City Council interviewed the following candidates for the Police Chief position: Mark Rehberg, Lonnie Roloff, Jason Cotner, John Bishop, and Darren Hanson.

The City Council reviewed the qualifications of each candidate.  A motion was made by Council Member Smith and seconded by Council Member Sandgren to offer the Police Chief position to Darren Hanson.  Motion was carried by unanimous vote.  Staff was directed to begin contract negotiations with Mr. Hanson.

There being no further business, a motion was made by Council Member Smith and seconded by Council Member Buckley to adjourn the meeting at 1:05 p.m.  Motion was carried by unanimous vote.
