The City of Redwood Falls has an opening for an independent contractor to serve as a “Deer Hunt Coordinator” for 2025. Individuals must hold a valid driver’s license and have the physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outside in the elements. There is a stipend of $2,000.00 payable in five monthly installments for hunt coordination services.
This is a contracted position and will run August through December which is the end of archery season with a final report due in January.
Duties will include: Organizing the City of Redwood Falls Deer Hunt program with Staff, development and enforcement of rules and safety requirements associated with the program, soliciting and tracking applications, applicant correspondence, stand location and placement, working with private landowners, developing and organizing archery skill competency testing and participant ranking, permit notification to successful applicants, scheduling site location meetings with top ranked participants to familiarize them with stand locations and maximum shooting distances, working with City of Redwood Falls Law Enforcement to maintain and check in and checkout logs of hunters in the field, provide welfare checks for archers failing to log out and assist with recovery of wounded deer. Other duties will include utilization of Microsoft Word and Excel for participant tracking of stand assignments, usage, hours afield, hunter success, and coordination hours to be delivered in report form to the City Council. Individuals must hold a valid driver’s license and have physical ability to lift 50lbs. and work outside in the elements.
