On August 20, 2024, the Redwood Falls City Council approved a new Solid Waste Collection Franchise Agreement with Sweetman Sanitation (Ordinance No. 93, Fourth Series). Sweetman Sanitation will service all residential units in Redwood Falls as of October 1. Recycling services (yellow can) will continue to be serviced by West Central Sanitation through Redwood County. Commercial accounts can continue to use any of the approved licensed providers. Your current garbage/recycling pickup day (Tuesday/Thursday) will NOT be changing.
Due to the change in sanitation providers, all residential garbage carts will be changed. New Sweetman Sanitation carts (red top) will be delivered on Saturday, September, 14 and the current West Central Sanitation carts (black top) will be picked up after the last day of garbage service Tuesday, September 24 and Thursday, September 26. You will receive the same size cart you currently have. If you would like to change sizes, please contact City Hall ASAP.
