Redwood Falls Airport Runways 12 and 30 mill and overlay, runway lighting and navigational aid replacements.
This project includes a full bituminous mill and overlay of the 4000 feet long by 100 feet wide runways 12/30 that includes grooving for improved traction and pavement striping. In addition, all runway lighting and navigational aids will be replaced from old incandescent lighting to new efficient LEDs. The 4.1-million-dollar project is 97.5% Grant funded through the Federal Aviation Administration and Minnesota Department of Transportation Aeronautics.
The 2019 MnDOT Statewide Airport Economic Impact Study shows the 133 public general aviation airports have an impact of 94K Jobs, $4.4B in payroll, $13.8B in Spending and $18.2B in economic activity. The stud evaluated all 133 airports and showed that the Redwood Falls Municipal Airport as an effect of 68 jobs, $4.4M in Payroll, $3.7M in spending, $8M in economic activity and generates $303K in state and city taxes. MnDOT is currently updating the 2019 study again in 2026 and anticipated to publish the report in 2027.
The project started May 18 and will be completed by Augst 7th 2026.
